Our Process
TEXAS QUALITY PRODUCTS’ sand is mined exclusively in the Colorado River Basin area of Eagle Lake, Texas. Due to it's angular to subangular shape, our premium filter sand offers superior performance for water filtration in both swimming pool filters and filter beds. While our Finer Sands are great for sandblasting and even Play Sand, they can also be used as aquarium sand. The sand/gravel is washed, dried through a rotary kiln, and then run through a triple screening process for maximum particle gradation. Following that application, our sands will either be bagged by the pound or hauled by the ton. No matter the size of the job, we will get it done!

Starting at the beginning of the plant, our plant process begins at the feed sand hopper.
Leading straight off the feed hopper is the main conveyor belt. Depending on the product being processed at the time, our main conveyor is used to transport any and all materials up and into the kiln.
Following our main conveyor belt, the washed sand gravel is then transferred into TQP's rotary kiln, where the material is then dried and prepared for its screening process.
After being dried through the kiln, all TQP's Sand & Gravel goes through a triple screening process for maximum particle gradation.
Here at Texas Quality Products, we still run a traditional operating system with 1 man operating the valve packer, 2 men palletizing loads, 2 men operating forklifts, and 1 man wrapping.
Texas Quality Products’ Bag Storage Facility houses all our 50 lb. and 100 lb. bags. We currently have bagged #100lb Paper Bags containing #5 Sand (being the finest granular grade) all the way down to #1 Industrial Sand. Our 50 lb bags, on the other hand, only contain 2 different types of material: medium filter and coarse filter sand, mostly used for swimming pool filtration and filter beds.
Our Extra Coarse Filter Sand is sold in so many ways other than 50lb. Bags. One of those ways is by bulk; whether it's 1 ton or 50, we can wash, dry, bag, or load your gravel. Texas Quality Products Production crew, for the time being, can generate 4,000 lb. (2-ton) SuperSack bulk bags and 50,000 lb. (25-ton) truckloads under coordination.
Located on the rear side of the plant are our Fine Sand Hoppers; like the Extra Coarse, they are used to produce 4,000 lb. (2-ton) SuperSack bulk bags and 50,000 lb. (25-ton) truckloads, as well as 3,000 lb. (1.5-ton) SuperSack bulk bags.
